FUJI PROVIA 100F 120
vivid & faithful colour reproduction
This film is acknowledged for having the smoothest, sharpest performance of any 100 ISO colour film in the world. It is a professional quality, medium speed daylight-type colour reversal film with ultrafine grain (RMS:8), designed to provide medium colour saturation and contrast compared to other films in the 100F series. It provides ideal colour saturation and contrast along with minimal variation in performance, which means it is suited to a wide range of applications such as product, landscape, nature and fashion photography as well as for portraiture.
Its super-fine grain enables finely detailed image formation for large size enlargements and other work requiring high magnification.
Vivid and faithful colour reproduction provides the most brilliant primaries without sacrificing delicate pastels. Rich tone reproduction with superb depth thanks to bias-free, brilliant highlights and excellent highlight-to-shadow gradation linearity. Improved reciprocity characteristics offer increased resistance to loss in film speed and colour balance during long exposures as well as consistently accurate multiple exposure performance. Provia 100F offers outstanding tolerance to exposure and density compensation during processing, within 0.5 to +2 stops, resulting in minimal variations colour balance and gradation.
Fuji: custodians of slide
Fujifilm are, for the time being at least, the custodians of colour reversal / transparency ("slide") film production. "Fujichrome" is the generic brand applied to these products. They offer a range of very high-quality products which yield truly superb quality results. Even now, in 2015, you would need some very exotic digital gear to get close to the beauty and fine quality of a Fujichrome transparency. And you would need to know how to use it, and how to process the raw files properly too. So, in our view, Fujichrome transparency film may be some of the most expensive film available, but it's truly un-rivalled.
